"I enjoyed my time on Tresco so much that I stayed on for an additional 6 months working."
Receiving the Elizabeth Hess Scholarship from the Studley College Trust enabled me to spend an amazing year working as a student at Tresco Abbey Gardens.
The historic, Mediterranean climate zone plant collection is endlessly fascinating and gives you the unique opportunity to study and care for the plants outside (as they are usually kept under glass in the UK). I enjoyed my time on Tresco so much that I stayed on for an additional 6 months working as the propagator in the Abbey Gardens which I also hugely enjoyed. The experience and knowledge I gained whilst working on Tresco undoubtedly helped me to get my current job at RHS Rosemoor where I work as a horticulturist in the formal garden.
